Overview

Hiranmay Kashyap is an India-admitted advocate who serves as Of Counsel for the India practice of Law Offices of SRIS, P.C. Enrolled with the Bar Council of Assam (Enrollment No. 281 of 2014), he practices in the courts of India with a focus on arbitration and dispute resolution, civil litigation, insurance, and company and contract matters.

Practice

Kashyap’s principal focus is arbitration and conciliation under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, and dispute resolution more broadly. He handles civil litigation before the Gauhati High Court and the courts of Assam and Northeast India, advises on company-law and contract matters, and has a concentration in insurance claims and coverage matters under Indian law. His practice extends to company and contract matters that are dispute- or arbitration-driven.

Courts and reach

Kashyap’s home practice is in Assam and Northeast India, including the Gauhati High Court, and his enrollment permits him to appear before courts across India under the Advocates Act, 1961. His arbitration and advisory work is handled on a pan-India basis. He works in Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, and English, and is the firm’s India Of Counsel with the strongest reach in the Northeast and in Bengali-language matters.

Education

Kashyap holds an LL.M. (2022) from B.R.M. Government Law College, Gauhati University, and a B.A., LL.B. from Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies, Bangalore University.

Within the firm’s cross-border work, Kashyap leads on Indian-law matters in his practice areas and serves as an India liaison, coordinating Indian-law input alongside the firm’s U.S.-licensed attorneys, who lead all U.S.-law matters.
